Apex Action Raises £110 for Movember 2019
Chris, Phil, Matt & Jon formed Apex Action Amigo’s this November and grew moustaches to raise £110 for Movember, a charity that supports men’s health.
The team arrived at the office on Day 1, clean shaven, energetic & enthused by the challenge. Within just a few days Phil quickly took the lead. A thick, dark, black line appeared under his nose. Matt and Jon sat back smugly. Nothing appeared to be happening to them. Meanwhile Chris, who normally presents with a goatee, started to look more like his usual self.
By Day 9 the effects of not shaving became noticeable. And it was not just the visible furry lines along everyone’s lips that gave it away. “It’s SO irritating. It’s so itchy. Urgghhh, it’s horrible. I feel like I’m getting food stuck in it. I want rid of it. I feel so stupid going out to see customers like this. Can’t believe I’ve got a party to go to looking like this. I’ve got a family photo shoot to attend looking like this!” … were just some of the comments.
As the weeks passed rumours through the grapevine also revealed that Matt was now known to his family as “Miserable Matt”. In fact, the only Apex Action Amigo who remained silent was Chris. He just kept feeling more and more like his usual self!
Despite all the irritations the team stuck at it and did themselves proud. They knew their prickly tash would raise some cash. Spurred on with the knowledge their efforts would help to address some of the biggest health issues faced by men. You can see their accomplishments in the picture above. On Day 29 from the left we present … Chris, Phil, Matt (the only one still looking glum) & Jon. All captured right before they all raced home for the weekend to use their razors. Well, all bar Chris anyway!
From 148 countries, 400,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas came together to change the face of men’s health. The proceeds raised will help to tackle prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. For more information visit www.uk.movember.com.
