Our Local Charity Partner 2018/19 is Cheshire Without Abuse
Cheshire Without Abuse (CWA), provides temporary accommodation, advice and practical help to women, children, and men, escaping domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse can have a devastating impact. In addition to a 24-hour helpline and vital crisis accommodation, CWA’s range of support is vast. Recovery support programmes, confidence building sessions and professional counselling are offered, alongside coffee and chat mornings for service users in need of respite.
Wellbeing workshops include the use of a kitchen to teach you how to cook nourishing, healthy food on a budget. Crèche and laundry facilities are also available. The list is endless!
The Apex team are all eager to support this worthy cause. We will be undertaking a variety of fundraising activities, offering volunteering help, and donating a percentage of our profits.
Apex is proud to support to YMCA Crewe as our Charity partner for 2015
This energetic and inspirational organisation is doing incredible work in the community, particularly, via their Life Academy programme and their No Second Night Out scheme. The Life Academy programme provides a system for young or vulnerable adults to learn and develop emotional self-management and life skills. The No Second Night Out scheme, is an initiative to ensure that rough sleepers, once referred to the YMCA, are immediately supported and cared for, so that they do not fall into the pattern of rough sleeping and homelessness.
Presently, Apex Connected is working with YMCA in the design and implementation of a work placement scheme for young adults. This rolling programme will start in November 2015 with one to three week work placements, which will include training and job rotation. We will also be engaged in wider fundraising and volunteering for YMCA and other charitable organisations.
As well as mentoring and support, Apex will be donating a percentage of our annual profits to YMCA Crewe.
Apex are proud to commit to EMERGE as Charity & Environmental partner for 2015
EMERGE provides the full range of waste, recycling and confidential shredding services to businesses and schools, and promotes sustainable resource management by offering advice and information services within the wider community. EMERGE has a strong environmental and person-centred ethos. The real ‘3Rs’ (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) of sustainable resource and waste management are at the heart of everything they do.
By offering high quality, excellent value commercial waste, recycling, reuse and food redistribution services, they meet social and environmental objectives and contribute to a more economically sustainable, just society. EMERGE’s FareShare Greater Manchester operation supports communities to combat food poverty and food waste. One of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is reducing per capita food waste by half at the retail and consumer levels by 2030. A staggering amount of food is wasted globally and not least here in the UK!
FareShare stops food being wasted and gets it to where it is needed.
As well as donating a percentage of our annual profits to EMERGE, Apex are donating £25 per printer, copier or multifunction device sale, to EMERGE’s FareShare food scheme that equals to 350 meals per device!
Apex partner The Woodlands Trust as our Environmental partner for 2015
The Woodland Trust
- Plant native trees and woods with the aim of creating resilient landscapes for people and wildlife.
- Protect ancient woodland which is rare, unique and irreplaceable.
- Restore damaged ancient woodland, bringing precious pieces of our natural history back to life
Apex Connected Tree Planting Scheme 2015
Tree dedications are our way of giving something back and thanking our customers for each printer, copier or multifunction device purchase and metered services orders.
We dedicate a young native tree at a Woodland Trust protected wood, which secures the lifetime care and protection of that tree. We donate one planted tree per device sold. In addition, we then replenish woodlands with 10 more trees for every 1 million colour prints produced across our customer base.
For each purchase you have the option to receive a free tree planting certificate as a thank you.
If you are looking for a new printer or copier for your school and are interested in specific Woodland Trust schemes or even you own environmental project, contact us.
